Office

Do you know how funny The Office is? At least I find it to be funny.

Someday I hope to work in an office again. Someday I hope to work again.

But I mean I'm in no hurry. Believe me. Summer is coming.

Though I'm pretty sure I will be forced to find employment.  I can't think of any good "get rich quick" schemes.  And I can't find anyone to support me. My hero is Anna Nicole Smith.  She had the right idea. Found some rich sick old man, got married, waited until he kicked the bucket, and then collected. She's a perfect example of the American Dream. They need to put her on a poster on Ellis Island.  I don't know any rich old people. At least none that would want to marry me. They are always saying "What? You don't have a job?  How old ARE you? Get away from me loser!"

Speaking of get away from me, what the hell is the deal with the illegal immigrant worker strike? A strike? Is there an Illegal Immigrant union somewhere? Why should they be allowed to stay here?  And a spanish version of the star spangled banner? WTF? This is an English speaking country. They need to adapt to the U.S. not the other way around.

And when is George Bush going to be out of office?  I can't wait to get rid of him.  Worst president ever.

Monday

Well it's Monday.  For most of the world that means the beginning of another long tedious work week.  For me it just means the beginning of a long tedious week with nothing to do. I got up today at around 11:30am. I got a shower and got dressed and went to the bank to deposit a check from a computer that I fixed. I contemplated getting a hair cut, but decided against it. I looked for a job online, read some news and checked the my stock price.  Then I tried to burn a couple of CD's for my sister cuz the ones I burned her last week all skip.  The new ones I just burned skip too.  so thats just swell. I guess I need a new pc now. (LOL I can't just swap out the burner to see if thats the problem.) now its 4 pm. the day is almost over already! Prison Break and 24 will be on in a couple of hours.

So I wonder if you can get financial aid/ student loans if you're 34 and don't have a job?  I was filling out a credit card application the other day (cuz it was 0% until sometime in 2007) and I got to the "Employment" section before I remembered that they don't give credit cards to people who don't have a job. I'm so used to not going to work and still getting a paycheck that I forget that I am in fact unemployed. I still get an unemployment check so it feels like I still have a job. If any of that makes any sense.

Thanks for all of your various comments.  If I do go to college I'm sure I won't get a job in my major, and I will be back where I started from (here whining about not having a job). Except I will be THOUSANDS of more dollars in debt. I was going to call DCCC today but never got around to it. I was busy. lol.

school

I just spent the last two and a half hours looking online at colleges in the area. I am thinking about going back to school to get my degree. in what? who knows. something. i have a bunch of credits from penn state from back in the early 90's. they are just sitting there, and it cost me a lot of money to get them, so i might as well use them for something. It seems like a lot of work and paperwork and money to go back to school.
I have to find a career path that is almost no work, with outrageously high salary, that you don't have to be trained to do. like a CEO or the head of HR. I guess I will get a computer related degree. what else do I know? They don't give degrees for eating Double Stuff Oreos and watching Aliens. I would start my own business, but that seems like a lot of work and a giant pain in the ass. Right now my 5-year plan is to hit the lottery (but that isn't working out because I keep forgetting to PLAY the lottery.) Hey at least I HAVE a plan.

Finally

I finally got tired of all the emails asking when I am going to update the site.  I am taking a few minutes out of my internet job hunting to post.

Job hunting depresses me anyway. Everything is contract work or some outsourcing/consulting company crap.  I want to work for a company that isn't in the business of getting people laid off. Companies in general suck, but public companies suck the worst. Its all about making some rich old bastards even richer. They are all worried about adding a few more dollars to their already HUGE fortunes so that, when they are dead and buried, their stupid ungrateful drug addict kids will have a few more dollars to blow on crack, whores, internet porn, bail, and that new liver when theirs rots from all the drugs and alcohol. 

Now I forget my entire point. Oh right I was saying how companies suck.

Since being laid off January 6 2006, I really can't tell you what I have been doing with my time.  I have been to Pittsburgh 3 or 4 times to hang out with a friend who is working out there temporarily. I have fixed a computer here and there for some extra cash. Other than that I am just getting older, poorer, and fatter since I got axed. Especially fatter.

It's all my old job's fault (I won't name them, but I'll blame them!).  Life was good until they let me go. I had it made.  I should sue them. For pain and suffering.  Because I am accustomed to living a certain way, and now they laid me off and I can't continue that lifestyle, so they should be held accountable. I can't be expected to find a real job!

Everything is terrible...
