King Tut
So nothing exciting has been going on. Still no job. Same shit different day. I don't even know what day it is anymore.
I went to the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibit at the Franklin Institute. It was good. I was disappointed that the golden Tut mask wasn't there. They show it on the ads etc so I just assumed it would be there. They did have his grandfather's golden coffin there, and a bunch of artifacts from Tut's tomb. Lots of gold. It was kind of amazing to be a few inches from something someone made over 3,000 years ago. I would have liked to see more bigger artifacts and more pieces. It seemed like the exhibit wasn't that big, but it was. There were way too many people there at one time though. They were all over the place like ants. All up in my personal space with their bad breath and bratty kids. While I was there, I saw an Imax movie about the Pharaohs tombs and stuff. It was a good time.

saw it in feb- and i was also disappointed for the same reasons -no actual king tut tomb -and too many people..but still really cool…the jewelry and head pieces were my favorite -along w/ some of the furniture…neat neat stuff…the steps outside the franklin institute are cool…

My fave was the grandfather’s sarcophagus and the little gold tomb for a statue. The gold was so ornately etched. 3000 years ago. Amazing. Tut’s curved cane and whip things were there. They were neat. It was all really cool I just always wanted to see the gold mask that is always associated with King Tut.
I didn’t see the steps. I parked underneath and came up in the elevator.

the steps have been painted (each step) to look like the gold / blue mask of king tut – it looks amazing

They should have told me that during the tour. Then I would have found the steps and been amazed as well. Now I have to go back to see them!

I like the steps at the local library, there are only like 4 of them, so it’s easy to take them all at once.
