Today is…
Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! WTF? For real? Arrr! They should have International Angry Pirate Day. (definition of Angry Pirate can be found here. So funny.)
I still do not have a job. I went on a second interview at a credit union very close to my house on Monday. I think it went well. I never can tell. She didn't seem put off or annoyed or anything. She said it's between me and some other schmo. Hopefully he will find another job, or get arrested for kiddie porn, or show up on "To Catch A Predator", or just die so I can get the job. I want it really badly. They are supposed to set up third interviews this week or next. My endless days of leisure might finally be over.
HBO has started playing the old seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm. That show kills me. I have always wanted to watch them all, but wanted to see them in order. HBOC has started showing them all, in order! They started after the new season began, so I have a new Season Pass on my Tivo. It saves me from buying the DVDs.
Otherwise everything else is the same. It's been really nice lately. Fall is here and it has been awesome sleeping at night. I still have my soft top on, and have had the windows off for over a week now. It's been absolutely perfect weather. Winter will be here soon and I will be pissed and miserable. But for now I really can't complain about the weather!
There is still time to send me money.

Long time, long post
Geez time flies. I didn't realize it's been so long since my last post. I doubt anyone even bothers to check here anymore.
Well it's September 11. It still doesn't seem real or something. I wish I saw the Towers in person so I could really understand how big they really were. I have been to Ground Zero, but that's no help because it's just a giant hole in the ground. I figured I would see them one day. Who knew. Kind of makes you want to make sure you do the things you want to do NOW, because you never know if it, or you, will be around to do it tomorrow.
Anyway, let's see. I might actually be getting a job soon. I have a second interview for a credit union that's about 15 minutes away (roughly 8 miles according to mapquest) from my house. So that's a good thing. The first interview was a little weird. The guy basicaly told me about the job. He asked a couple topical basic questions about my experience and that was it. So I wasn't expecting a call back. Supposedly it's a very low-stress, low-pressure, relaxed, friendly environment. It's a private company and they aren't obsessed with firing people to make a couple of rich asshole investors more money. No BS. No foreign offices. No retards in sales offices. They have company picnics and a holiday party. They appreciate their workers and treat them nice. It seems almost too good to be true. There has to be a downside. I'm sure the money sucks. But considering I have a negative income right now, anything is better than nothing. Plus paying for health insurance is ridiculous. So I will keep you posted.
Yeah someone needs to fix the health system. Why is everything so expensive? I mean, was it like this 25 years ago and I just wasn't aware of it? There has to be something that can be done to cut the shit. They need to stop the drug companies from advertising and brainwashing Americans into thinking they have various diseases and need their miracle medication. They are selling the disease and the treatment. Cuz we all know they don't produce CURES anymore. There's no money in curing diseases. I'm all for socialized health care. There should at least be a reasonable national plan that you can get when you are unemployed (ahem) or poor. The f-ing rich get richer and the rest of us suffer. The U.S. needs another revolution, this time against the rich and the politicians.
On to other things, Britney Spears at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). First off, she did not look bad or fat. I thought she looked good for having two kids and a very public breakdown. I wouldn't have worn that outfit, because she seemed very self-conscious in it. And it opened her up to every a-hole in the world (who thinks that stick figure Paris Hilton has a hot body) to call her fat. The performance itself was a mess. I think she could have showed a little more interest and exuded some energy and excitement. She was like "Ho Hum. Right foot here, left foot there, cross my arms..." Maybe she had stage fright? I felt embarrassed for her. The song wasn't too bad, it's typical Britney. But she should have tried. It was her comeback performance, her moment to prove that she still has it and really isn't a mess. She seemed to have proved the opposite.
As far as the rest of the VMAs, I couldn't watch it. It's so annyoing. It was a bunch of different rappers all yelling into microphones in 'crowded' hotel rooms etc (I read how it was all staged to look crowded). It was so not interesting or entertaining. Utter crap. I tried to watch it, I really did. I'm so tired of the whole rap thing. It needs to go away now. And it needs to take Kanye West with it. I mean, his outburst at George Bush about Katrina was hilarious and well deserved, but that's all I ever need to hear from him again. He's a big whining baby who constantly plays the race card whenever he doesn't get his way. I won't even get into all the times when he has acted like an asshole, because who has that much time. Sarah Silverman's comments after Britney's performance were very awkward, mean, and generally unfunny. I really enjoy her show, but her stint at the VMAs was awful.
MTV should call it a day. The channel isn't relevant anymore. They never play videos. It's all stupid STUPID reality shows, and stupid dating shows, and whores on parade, and 'look how rich i am' shows. It's a total crap factory. If the Real World wasn't in Sydney this year, I wouldn't have a reason to put MTV on. I couldn't tell you the last time I watched MTV (before Real World Sydney).
Sometimes I think I'm just getting older and realizing what is crap and what isn't, and seeing what needs changing and what doesn't. Sometimes I think I'm totally off-base, but sometimes I think I'm totally right.
PS - It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is on Thursday! Don't forget!
