Blade Runner

It's been a couple weeks since the last post.  Time flies when you work every damn day. I could probably post everyday from work, but I feel very exposed here (I'm at work right now!). Maybe I will.  I always think of these really good things to rant about when I'm driving home or when I'm away from a computer.  And by the time I am near a pc, I'm not inspired to write anymore, or my rage has subsided.

Anyway, I'm going to see Blade Runner tonight at the Ritz.  I thought it would be cool to see a 25 year old movie on the big screen.  It's the "Final Cut" which is supposed to be the director's definitive vision of the film. I think it's been cleaned up and remastered also.  Blade Runner is currently number 103 on IMDB's Top 250.  The DVD comes out on the 18th, and one edition of the DVD will contain all 3 versions of the film. I don't think I have seen every version yet.  I have the Director's Cut at home, so I have seen that one. Hopefully it will be good.

I never thought I would have the chance to see it in the theater. I would like to buy a theater and show older movies on it.  Have recliners and coolers and pretzel bites.  And walls that block cell phone signals.  And show movies like Aliens (of course), and the original Star Wars trilogy, and the Matrix, and Lord of the Rings, and countless other movies that I like.  I guess that's the reason why people have home theaters with projectors and big ass screens.  And recliners. And they don't have to get dressed to go see a movie, or even wear clothes at all!  I should probably get a home theater.

I will let you know how it is if i don't get murdered in Philly.  It's pretty freakin' cold outside, and hopefully it's too cold for the murderous thugs to be out murdering.

  1. Good for you Tommy, this is a movie that is actually worth seeing in the theater. I hope I get the same chance.
