Goonies Question
Last night I found out that my brother's girlfriend has never seen The Goonies. She said she hasn't seen anything from before she was born in 1985. That is a bit fishy because The Goonies came out in June 1985. She may have been born after June. Not that it matters...
Then I found out that a woman I work with has never seen it either! Incon(th)eivable! (to quote a different movie)
Anyway, here's my question. Do you think it's possible for a grown adult person to watch The Goonies for the first time and enjoy it? I love the movie, but I grew up with it. I'm thinking that an adult might find it extremely cheesey and stupid.
These people must watch it though, just so they get the pop culture references and the various quotes that people say. Rock-ee road? Chunk? Hey you guuuuuuuys!

I think it is possible. A quality movie like the goonies is timeless.

The Goonies is somewhat overrated. Instead have her watch a quality movie like I Spit On Your Grave. It’s kind of like The Goonies, except it’s about a girl who is raped and tortured.
